Experience Visualizer

Hi, My Name Is Eunbin Nam

With 6 years of experience as an Experience Visualizer and Concept Designer, I have a deep understanding of how elements like water, fire, and fog can be used to create captivating, awe-inspiring, and beautiful moments and narratives.

As a designer and visualizer who creates and directs scenes, I have collaborated extensively with composers, animators, architects, and engineering teams to develop documents for various competitions, including project conceptions and reports. These collaborations have consistently led to successful project contracts.

In the early stages of my career, I primarily worked with government agencies and organizations on public project development. I created compelling documents through comprehensive development, from storytelling to sculpture and structure design, as well as graphic and projection design.

My visual work for these documents encompasses a wide range of techniques, including 3D modeling, animation, and traditional painting methods such as acrylic, pastel, and watercolor.

My favorite attribute of water is its ability to create vast and beautiful imagery in the air through its instantaneous speed and three-dimensional unfurling.

The Process Of Visualization

It does not simply belong to the visible realm - the audience experiences the story through the movement of water, the refraction of light, and its disappearance within an open space.

The most crucial skill here is not merely creating beautiful imagery but enabling the audience to sense the context and narrative within that experience, alluding to the most rich and intense moments.

The Process Of Production

My role begins at the design stage, where I create the conception with the layout in mind—A layout that can maximize those moments through engineering and systems.

My role focused on creating projection visualizations, conceptions, and artwork, which required a thorough understanding of the site, miniature models, and visual layouts to ensure success.

Cooperation and creation with team

  • During the CAD documentation design phase, I worked closely with the architect. I collaborated on visual design, sculpture, effects, and system layout to create the initial documents. Through continuous communication with the architect, we developed the design report.

  • I collaborated closely with the engineering team, creating cue sheets, technical visual documents, and layout documents detailing the water silhouettes for each scene, providing the desired visual materials to support the production stage.

  • After completing the initial concept and storyboard work for the actual show, I worked closely with the animator on parts that required detailed 3D animation. Currently, after completing an MFA at Pratt, I am able to directly create detailed animation work using Blender and TouchDesigner.

  • During the production of 'Yi Sun-shin Park' and 'Luna Show', I collaborated closely with the composer. After completing the show script and notes for each scene, I worked with the composer to create music that suited each scene. We continuously exchanged feedback to develop the work, ensuring that the music and visuals harmonized to provide an immersive experience for the audience.

  • The work with water and fog is finished with the design of light. I completed the color concept through visual storyboards and collaborated with the lighting designer and programmer to conduct on-site rehearsals. Through this, we optimized the visual concept and adjusted the technical aspects to enhance the completion of the final result.
