REVERSE
Landscape Design
The project describes the mythical narrative of Jeju Island—the “rise myth” that “gods rose from the ground”—with a central structure symbolizing a tree, the gods, and nature. Roots (past), pillars (present), and branches (future) compose the “soaring” movement of the structure and expand technical construction and the cultural imagination.
TWO FACE

‘Two Faces’ is a story about all of us—speaking to our inner selves and occasionally posing questions in the quest to find our true selves. The 15-meter-long sculpture and the 45-meter-long water screen capture the monologue of a young soul discovering their own voice.
AURORA

The 'Aurora,' which begins to shine quietly in the darkest night, creates a comforting sound for those who are lost and have nowhere to go in the vast universe. The young soul that had fallen from the sky like a small piece of dust comes to the lake through some attraction and regains its lost memories through the movement of the beautiful aurora in the lake.

The process of directing involves reimagining the narrative by considering the spatial conditions and balance of the media on the site. Through the design and rehearsal of each medium, incorporating the element of time, I weave together a tapestry of poetic imagery that unfolds into the sky.
DREAM OF LUNA
Fountain Design / Light Design
Fifty fountain nozzles spanning 200 meters across the heart of the lake. Water streams, varying in widths and heights, orchestrate a distinctive choreography with their abundant shape of water. Ten carefully crafted chapters, harmonized with sound, convey story through an ephemeral and poetic landscape shaped by the interplay of water and light.
WHISPER OF LAKE

The music of the first scene, inspired by Wagner's compositions, expresses the majesty and lushness of nature through an overwhelming orchestra. 'WHISPER OF LAKE' was completed after two months of storytelling work and five months of sound design, convey a message through an opera-like rich scene and an unspoken emotional narrative.

The 45-meter-tall water screen creates a visage symbolizing the heart of the city. It portrays a whimsical moon fallen into a lake, undergoing poetic transformations into fire, water, and a rainbow.
COSMOS

'Cosmos' is a video projection work depicting genesis and harmony in the world. Utilizing 2D/3D animation, it begins with the birth of a fragile and small life, illustrating its growth. The work captures the fleeting memories of beautiful moments that we often overlook, as if they last forever.
MOON IN THE LAKE
Conception / Storytelling
The swift urban development brought convenience through the latest technology, yet behind the scenes, there was a deficiency of historical and cultural solidarity. Behind of this, the narrative that unfolds from this absence is about the future. It describes the solidarity and inclusiveness for all who arrive in an unfamiliar land, rebuild their home, and explores the unnameable, uncertain, but hopeful possibilities.
THE LUNA
Sculpture / Public Installation
'The Luna,' a sculpture measuring 15 meters in width and height, symbolizes the moon floating on a lake. The pattern carved in the center of the moon represents the 'beginning of life,' 'continuous birth,' and 'eternity.'

“ The Luna ” establishes a unique regional identity for the town with no prior infrastructure or history by creating artistic narratives of a city imaginable in the site through the moonlike object. Now the Luna, 'the moon on the lake' create a story of new city with a mysterious and futuristic exploration of the place.
GRAVITY PARK

"Gravity Park" creatively delves into the convergence of objects and subjects within spatial relationships, utilizing a design that beckons the audience to physically sense centrifugal force and gravity. The space is adorned with an array of streamlined curves, constructing a visually dynamic environment that effectively imparts the immersive experience of collectively drifting through space. Beyond its aesthetic objectives, this project introduces a social program designed to rejuvenate the city's neglected spaces by reimagining their locational design. This initiative aims to instill a revitalized sense of community engagement and connection within these transformed urban landscapes.
WATCHMAN
Public Installation
Located in a harbor embracing a seaport terminal and naval base, Watchman “greets” and “guards” people at the coastal front of the country. Watchman not only stands as a “lighthouse” that protects and leads the way but also stands as a symbol of a waiting heart and a cordial welcome.
PRIZMA

Designed to revitalize the "Rainbow Bridge," this project ingeniously enhances the visual landscape by dynamically refracting light and water at varying angles. The convergence of people traversing the bridge, the flowing water, and the shifting light orchestrates a unique three-dimensional synesthetic experience, creating a mesmerizing choreography. Twenty triangular water sculptures, strategically positioned along the bridge, dynamically move in sync with visitors' paths, offering an immersive encounter. The ever-changing hues of the bridge's facade provide a vibrant spectacle, enveloping visitors in the illusion of walking on water.

TIME CRANE

The History Park plays a crucial role in the transformative journey of North Port, not only reshaping the locale's character but also honoring its storied history. A round dial plate, symbolizing enduring memories of Busan, serves as a poignant emblem within this commemorative space. Preserved remnants from the old North Port—cranes, mooring posts, and rugged wharf blocks—act as nostalgic anchors, bridging present-day observers to the port's rich past. Through a nuanced integration of reinterpreted natural phenomena, repurposed port remnants, and references to the wisdom of Korean ancestors, the audience is offered an emotional exploration of the region's geographical, natural, historical, and cultural essence.
BLAST
Public Installation
"Blast" centers around a specific phenomenon where a sudden snowstorm ensues. DDP, Seoul's most iconic and futuristic building, maintains its enigmatic futurism and artificial beauty. This natural occurrence, in stark contrast to the artificial structure, unravels an additional picturesque landscape through the recreation of nature.

THE FLOWER _ UNG-CHEON MARINA

This design is the structured form of a camellia flower sitting on the waves, expressing the natural color of the flower through the intense contrast of colored ropes. The cylinder bar, which forms the flower tassel, adjusts the ambient humidity and temperature simultaneously by emitting mist with the unique scent of the flower.
GALAXY

The ‘Galaxy' is purposefully designed to captivate viewers from a skyward viewpoint. Created for a lake nestled in the heart of a bustling business district, amidst convention centers and hotels, the focus lies on the visual experience observed from elevated floors. Through the artful manipulation of light and water refraction, the design unfolds an urban panorama reminiscent of an oriental painting.
CELESTIAL DOT

This project entails the creation of a media floor, specifically designed to be visible only during night time. Its visibility is achieved by strategically aligning the viewpoint with the landscape, focusing on the line of sight observed from tall buildings. Simultaneously, the viewers' visual experience is expanded through dynamic movements of lights and fountains.
FOG FOREST *

This project was designed to revitalize a community based on a public square in a commercial district. The foggy ‘forest’ was reinterpreted from the perspective of the city, and the visitor experiences the vitality of the city and the softness of nature through the ‘mist cloud’ that responds to the movements of the people.
TUNES OF TREE

This is one of the programs that take place in the middle of the forest, 'Tunes of Trees,' is a space for experiential engagement designed to captivate children. It amplifies the imagination of the trees through artificial sounds generated by the collisions and movements of tree balls of varying heights and sizes.

2015 EXPO MILANO_ KOREA PAVILION *

This is the final exhibition hall of the Korea Pavilion in the 2015 Milan Expo; the show has the theme of ‘food’ and takes place on a 360-degree stage. The four seasons of Korea are depicted on a circular water screen expressing Korean sentiments and food culture originating from nature.

This project is a landscape design of ‘a canal’ that is a part of the North Port redevelopment project. By reinterpreting ‘Haemu’, a sea fog, which is a typical natural phenomenon of the region, the project is designed for the audience to experience the emotions of the region that the geographical and natural characteristics provide.

Theatre Design
The play begins at the Square of Seoul City Hall, which is a symbolic location where collective demonstrations took place, including the impeachment of the former president of Korea. The audiences watch the performance in the center of the Circular Technical Theater, which is circling around them. Surrounded by wall modules and actors that move simultaneously in a circular layout, the audience becomes part of the ‘crowd’ that the performance covers and participates in the theme inherent in the text.
